New Reviewing Policy

In an attempt to achieve a higher level of fairness, the SLeague announces a new reviewing policy.

Ever had a scenario of yours get an unfair review?

There have been complaints by some Scenario makers about receiving unjust reviews on their scenarios. In the old days of Apolyton, a review was final and there was no changing it. The former Web Editor Blackclove talked about a section where the author replies to the review. This was never put into effect, but now we've come up with something better...

Scenario Designers

If you feel as if you have been cheated in the review of the scenario, please send an e-mail to sleague@apolyton.net. Bring up valid points of why you feel the review is inaccurate. Refer to the review posted. Do not whine about the review by saying "I've spent a lot of time on it and I deserve higher". If the Scenario League feels that the view may be incorrect, we will notify you and we will start a thread in our forums. Go there.

You will be allowed to start questions on multiple reviews of your scenarios, but not if they are within 3 points of each other. If the reviews are that close, think about what you are doing. Chances are that your scenario really deserved that score.

Yes, there is a chance that your scenario score may even be lower! If during the discussion, the reviewer changes his opinion and thinks that they rated it too high and they can justify this, then your scenario will lose points.

Scenario Reviewers

Once we have decided to start a discussion of the scenario in the forums, you will be notified via e-mail. We highly encourage you to come and defend the review you submitted.

The Discussion

During the discussion, we would like the participants to only the scenario designer, the author of the review in question, and anyone else who has submitted a review on that same scenario. If you do not fall into these categories and have something you wish to add, e-mail it to the scenario designer or reviewer for them to decide if they want to bring it up or not.

No insults! We will try to keep this a friendly debate. If you are a designer, do not hold it against the reviewer that their review is not how you liked it. Respect each other's opinion and keep it civilized.

The discussion will last for a duration of 1 week since the thread's creation. Then, the Scenario League will announce it's verdict, lock the thread, adjust the score accordingly, and notify on the review that it has been discussed. A review may only be discussed once.

Updating Scenario

Here is a better approach. Once your scenario is reviewed and you wish to change it for the better, you can re-submit the scenario either to the League, or to the reviewer. It will be evaluated again and given a new score.

*Comments on reviews*

If you have some small comments to make about a review of one of your scenarios then just send them to  laanen@xs4all.nl and they'll be put under the review as "Author's Notes".
