MAP: I think that the map covers too much of the rest of Eastern Europe, and should concentrate more on Hungary and European Turkey. I saw little to no reason to include the Italians and Poles other than as trading partners. One minor thing is that at the beginning of the game, some of the Magyar cities are building Harquebuisers, but if you go to the "change" menu they are not accessable. Just that minor detail was missed, but that profoundly impacted my game because I exploited it. ATMOSPHERE: There were no atmosphere problems. BALANCE: Yes, the balance is great. I really think that this is the shining aspect of the design. This scenario had enough units to make warfare big and bloody, but didn't have too many that it made warfare overwhelming. Also, the unit powers are well balanced as well, making strategy the key to winning, not just brute force. CONCLUDING COMMENTS: I really enjoyed this scenario, and there were a few reasons that I especially enjoyed this. First, it was on a subject I knew nothing about, so I learned something new. Second, there was a real and definite sense of mission in this scenario, one of the most important aspects of a scenario. I also really like it when scenarios give a wide option of units to build, which this did. |
DOCUMENTATION: Great documentation. It gave a very thorough history of the scenario, and was very well written. TECH TREE: The tech tree serves its purpose. Perhaps it could have been more incorporated into the story line. DETAILS: The details were taken care of. Even the advice that your military and domestic advisors gives you was changed! |
ORIGINALITY: Well thought out scenario, very historically accurate, and the storyline type of event progression is great. |
