SUMMARY: The map is small and there is no time limit (oops!). All of the units are new and very beautiful, and there are a plethora of great ideas and concepts in this scenario.

Playability Rating

10/10
COMMENTS: This is one of the most fun scenarios out there. I can play it over an over again without getting tired of it, and multiplayer opened up whole new venues for it.

FAULTS: Not many faults other than a too small map and the lack of a time limit.

ATMOSPHERE: Alex is a master at setting the correct atmosphere. It definitely had an ancient feel to it.

BALANCE: Definitely well balanced. I have had enormous success with playing multiplayer games because the Spartan and Athenian advantages and disadvantages are so well balanced that the conflict is just as fun from both sides.

CONCLUSIONS: This was the first scenario in which Alex proved himself as a top of the line creator. This has all the elements of one of the greats, and I think many will agree that it should be considered a classic.

Level of General Care

6 / 10

MAP: The map covers just the right area for the conflict, however, I find it alltogether too small. I think that had he used a bigger map and actually put an end date to the scenario, it would have been a much more intense fight. The ships should be able to move quicker, too.

DOCUMENTATION: There really should have been more documentation for this scenario. The documentation that is given is also a little difficult to understand since Alex's English isn't perfect (not that I am criticizing).

TECH: The tech tree was fine.

DETAILS: Details seemed alright.

Art and Originality

10/10
NEW IDEAS: There are plenty of great ideas in this scenario. For example, Alex created City Wall Units to be built connecting two athenian cities. This was a very good idea, as is his idea of "missions".

ART: Dynamite artwork. Alex continuously proves to me that he is the best Civ2 artist on the net. I have never seen units as good as he makes them, and he is very good at city, terrain, and other art as well.

NOTES: None.
