Overall Rating

27/30
COMMENTS: Large map of the low countries, 1500's to 1700's. All the units are new and most of the improvements.

Playability Rating

9 / 10
COMMENTS: This scenario was extremely fun; I played for hours on end. There were no serious flaws except that Allard forgot about the objective system. The atmosphere was perfect and the scenario was well-balanced; the pacing was also just right. In fact, this scenario was one of the most fun scenarios I've played and it was historically very accurate. One of my favorites yet, and my favorite one from Allard.

Level of General Care

8 / 10
COMMENTS: The map is adequate, although I think too much space is given to the North Sea. There is abundant documentation; you'd have to be illiterate not to understand what's going on. The tech tree is fine, although I wish Allard had made research feasable. Details are all taken care of.

Art and Originality

10/10
COMMENTS: The artwork is very good. All of the units and cities are newly designed, most of the terrain (I especially enjoyed the tulip special terrain).

There are many new ideas and concepts in this scenario including recreating the Dutch economy in a very realistic way

This had many great ideas and was one of the most carefully constructed civ 2 scenarios ever. It compliments the game perfectly.

NOTES: None.
