The Scenario League's main purpose is to improve the quality of Civilization II scenarios. To that end, we offer our services to help others do their work better. We are best known for our reviews, but any contribution that aids scenario designers is welcomed. If you have suggestions for features you feel you could contribute to, post a message on our message boards. To provide reviews or tips, see our instructions below. |
|
1) Send an email to the editors (sleague@apoloyton.net) with the subject "joining the league". You may or may not receive a reply, but you will then be officially on the books as a member. 2) If you don't have an identity here on Apolyton, you should also stop by any of the Forums or message boards and click "create profile". 3) You can start writing reviews right away or contributing tips. The reviewing form is available in rich-text format. Feel free to ask questions about the reviewing process, introduce yourself, etc., on our message board. Some other stuff you should consider reading before writing your reviews:
... in general, you should probably also read through some of the reviews on the site to get a sense of the format. The review form looks simple but we actually expect a lot from reviewers. If a review is not accepted, I will return it to you with suggestions for improvement. We never "reject" a review - we simply ask you to make changes. So, don't worry about rejection! 4) When you finish your first scenario review, send it to the editors (sleague@apoloyton.net) with the subject "review submission". In the body of the email, include both the completed review form and any information about your web page, if you have one, for posting on our members/links page. If you would prefer not to have a link to your page, just don't include a URL. If you have any questions, post a message on the message board. Someone will be glad to help! Hey, we can help you design better scenarios! Everyone's first scenario is always a poor one. That's just life. But the good news is that with practice you get better... and better... and better! We also promote the web sites of our contributors on our links page, which can increase the number of hits you get. So there's a shameless self-promoting reason to submit reviews as well :). |
