Guidelines for Ratings

What does a "3 out of 10" mean for Playability? El Khan addresses this problem by providing a scale for rating scenarios.

1-10 Rating Scale: How to Use It

Scoring needs to be as consistent as possible, to maintain a (reasonable) level of fairness. These are the general guidelines to score a scen per category (e.g., Playability):

Rating

What It Means

1-2
The scen is absolutely worthless in this particular category. Efforts to improve this condition will likely be in vain.

3-4
The scen is (very) poor in this particular category. Improvement might be worth it, but there's loads to fix.

5-6
The scen scores mediocre. The term "slush pile" comes to mind. Some more effort of the author could make the scen OK.

7-8
The scen scores reasonably well. The scen is overall up to snuff. It is perhaps possible to improve the scen to reach high levels of perfection.

9-10
The scen kicks ass. It doesn't get much better than this.
